Định nghĩa và Cách sử dụng

Thuộc tính alt đặt hoặc trả về giá trị của thuộc tính alt của hình ảnh.

Thuộc tính alt bắt buộc chỉ định văn bản thay thế cho hình ảnh, nếu hình ảnh vì lý do nào đó không thể hiển thị (do kết nối chậm, lỗi trong thuộc tính src hoặc nếu người dùng sử dụng trình đọc màn hình).

Lưu ý: Internet Explorer hiển thị giá trị của thuộc tính alt dưới dạng chú giải công cụ khi di chuột qua phần tử <img>. Đây KHÔNG phải là hành vi chính xác, theo đặc điểm kỹ thuật HTML. Tất cả các trình duyệt khác đang tuân theo đặc điểm kỹ thuật và sẽ chỉ hiển thị văn bản thay thế nếu không thể hiển thị hình ảnh.

Mẹo: Nếu bạn muốn tạo chú giải công cụ cho hình ảnh, hãy sử dụng thuộc tính tiêu đề chung.
